Yeah, it wasn't horrible, it just existed in its own little microcosm with only token elements of stargate present.

Episode 7: Cold Lazarus

Some of my episode numberings seem to be a little off so I will be double checking with wiki and other sources for production numbers and such. Almost called this episode Brief Candle which is not for a few more eps. Probably won't matter much though.

I can appreciate the jarring yellow and blue landscape...looks suitably alien. Can't ever trust alien crystals though, always hiding something mystical. Can't a crystal just be pretty? Like, if aliens were to visit earth to see our bountiful supply of quartz, they probably would not expect the crystal to do anything but be crystal...

So this episode looks like your standard clone episode. These tend to vary a lot in quality, but this is stargate so I am sure it will turn out ok as long as Sam does not whine about crystal people rights or something.

I know Daniel is supposed to be language and archeology boy, but c'mon Electromagnetic is like..pretty basic stuff, surely you took at least a basic physics class doctor Jackson! What kind of geek are you?

D'ohoho crystal people can't understand how human people work.

Meanwhile, Teal'c discovers TV. For a minute. Nothing good was on.

Love the blending of culture summed up in a quote. "Your world is a strange place" "So's yours" *cue Daniel looking obviously confused as to what prompted Teal'c comment*

These flashbacks are annoying and I don't really care about O'Neill's past.

Actually...Jack EM'Field seems to be doing ok with the ex. Well, was until the plot demanded he develop energy problems.

The rest of the gang get to reunite with Jack O'Real and receive exposition from a talking crystal.

I have to imagine Hammond giving the 'remember kiddos, the stargate is a secret. shhhh' is for Teal'c benefit (really, the audience), because thinking that anyone part of the program would just blab about such a thing is kinda...weird.

Oh...turns out the whole thing really IS crystal people didn't understand how human people work. Silly crystals, life is for kids! Except Charlie.

Crystal Charlie and Jack go through the gate and the episode ends. Stargate command has gotta be wishing the MiB flash device were real so that Jack's former wife would not be needing an explanation. Clearly it was a super secret robotics experiment that Jack was the head of. He made a bot to look like him and his son. He was obsessed you see, and needs help. Stargate? No Ma'am, totally not an interstellar wormhole portal. It was where the robots are being kept, in an abandoned observatory, the gateway to the stars you see...

Yeah. I'd buy it.
