Mmm, do want to see what they do with the remaked version of CotG, but also wanna continue onward. I think I will let it sit for a little, enough to let some of the minor details fade, but not long enough to forget too much so that the changes will still stand out. Maybe at the end of the season....

Episode 3: The Enemy Within

Coming directly from the movie, Jack is instantly 10x more likable and having Daniel and Sam around helps too.

Ahh theme song goodness, I remember when scifi decided that the show did not need a full theme. I also remember them changing their name and turning into a wrestling and B-movie network with science sprinkled in to kill time...

Hammond remains a little overly cruel with the whole "This is the first alien we have seen, even though really he is pretty much human, but SCIENCE! demands we poke and prod him like an animal."

Hmm...first mention of the Tau'ri. Yay humanity!

Man the goa'uld in Kawalsky sure seems to hate people in white >_>;;

This goa'uld seems less like an infant and more like a teenager. "Grr. Let me Go. I will DESTROY you! Grrrr!"

Suddenly Hammond is not so evil now as he plays the morality card against Jerkface McYayTorture.

Some wrestling over life and death and what they should do. Surgery proceeds to become a thing.

Operation: Success But with a twist...genre savvy and hazy memory tells me there is a twist here.

Yup...

So the thing tries the exact same thing...but seems to fare a little better except for "i need to prove my loyalty' Teal'c standing in the way.

Teal'c: YOU SHALL NOT PASS

Stargate Lobotomy. Ouch.

And everything afterwards was rainbows and lollipops. The end.

Not a bad episode, flowed well and though the twists and turns were obvious enough, it all worked to peel away at another layer of the overarching plot. A little more was learned about the enemy and the full team has now been officially formed. I hear from a reliable source that the next episode sucks balls.
