I don't like Austin Daye at all, although he is better than last season (can't be worse, really). Ty Lawson was a great PG prospect that we passed on when we could have really used a PG.
I don't like Brandon Knight because he is not a PG at all, and I wanted Kenneth Faried if Bismack Biyombo was off the board. Lo and behold, Faried has a better season rookie season than Greg Monroe's rookie year, and I continue to bash my head against the wall. Knight meanwhile produces with a bad TS%, bad assist-to-turnover ratio (Kemba Walker was better than him), and a bad steal rate.
The problem is that we don't draft players that rebound. Drummond was a good offensive rebounder and a terrible defensive one. We draft length, but it's largely useless.
It's frustrating to see the guys you want to draft/keep go out and be good while you're stuck with crap. Prince averaged more shot attempts than points last year, and we still have three years left on his s***ty team that no one is going to take.
I watch productive players get passed over for "potential" year after year with our team and I just want to tear my hair out. You don't need to be the youngest team in the league, you need to start finding/creating value and not buying it. That's what's going to save Detroit.
