good premise, one that should have been entirely effortless to do well, but they absolutely ruined it with his inner monologue. it was so poorly done.
inner monologues can be done well (veronica mars!), but dexter did not do that.
I was actually pissed off watching it because the premise has so much damn potential.
Funny, because that's one of the reasons people actually like that show. It's problems are completely unrelated to Dexter himself and are due to focusing on all the side characters.
