This might be a decent rule of thumb for most shows, but for The Wire, I'd say you need to finish at least the entire first season.
But look, you can't expect everyone to love something; I'm sure there are people out there who believe Shakespeare is a hack playwright, for example. Just a shame you can't enjoy what's inarguably (Breaking Bad aside) the best TV show ever produced.
it is most definitely not the best TV show ever. and it really amazes me that so many people think this way. my opinions on it aside, it's really silly to call it the BEST EVER
