The Democrats seem to be more split on more issues, when they did control the house they didn't do much.
In all fairness, a big part of the problem was the fact that you need 60/100 votes to effectively pass anything in the Senate. A lot more would have gotten done had a simple majority been needed in the Senate/the Democrats had even once tried to call the Republican's bluff. A fair bit got passed as it was.
-Fairer pay for women.
-Stimulus package
-Health care
-Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell
-Troop increases in Afghanistan
-Two Supreme Court Justice confirmations
-Attempts at Financial Reform (which the Republicans are now in the middle of attempting to gut)
