This topic has to be a joke, but I have learned not to underestimate the stupidity of some b8ers
I think it's not as stupid as you think. If console games had settings in them like PC versions which allowed for higher resolution and such, like how PCs have, then things like the "HD" versions of say MGS, Silent Hill, God of War etc wouldn't be necessary. You'd just pop in the game into say your 360 or PS3 and it could display it at a higher resolution since it's on better hardware.
Sure this wouldn't make the textures better, but most of the textures in these HD ports are the same anyway. But none the less, playing a 3D game at a higher resolution does indeed look better.
Pretty much, this would just in a way be consoles working more like PCs, though it'd require forethought for the next generation, and backward compatibility, and a lot of wackiness. But it's certainly not a stupid notion.
