I dunno. The only noise I can tolerate when I'm trying to fall asleep is music. I like to sleep in silence and darkness for the most part, which means I'll probably end up marrying some girl who has to have some sort of white noise like a fan blowing to sleep.
I remember one time trying to take a nap at my grandma's house, and all I could hear was the sound of her grandfather clock ticking. It was so distracting it took me forever to fall asleep. I dunno how to describe why it bothers me so much, but I can't not notice that kind of noise.
