I guess I just find it hard to get worked up about people liking dumb stuff. Especially when there is plenty of stuff dumber than MLP.
It's not the people who like it that are a problem, that's fine. It's the people that are obsessed, and have changed their entire lifestyle as a result of a children's show.
I think it's weird for people to be obsessed with most things.. but the fact that it's a children's show doesn't really make it any more deplorable to me. Some of the best films ever have been made for children. The fact that a show is targeted at girls of a certain age doesn't necessarily say anything about it's quality.
Don't get me wrong, it's crazy to think of how big this thing has gotten.. I just don't understand why people would hate on others for liking something that may not be targeted at their demographic. I honestly hate most children's shows, but I'd rather watch those than some of the crap I see other people my age raving about.
