Edit: Also anyone who is surprised by SF4/MvC3 being changed/whored out apparently hasn't heard of Mega Man or, you know, Street Fighter pre-4.
Street Fighter I'll give ya, but at least the yearly Mega Man titles (those Pokemon-style Battle Network and Star Force games with the two/three separate versions being the exception) were different games with completely different levels, weapons, and enemies.
