Things are serious between us, and neither of us took it lightly. A lot of thought was put into it.
Then I'd say your parents are perfectly justified in feeling concerned.
Putting aside that basically everyone else we've spoken to gave a "who cares" sort of reaction to our relationship...I don't actually have any issues with someone being "concerned" about it.
