Even if you are gaming you are usually better off with an apu just for the sheer price. Light gaming mind you, but with the upcoming chip it looks like it can do pretty high level work too, after all it currently can run most modern games with medium settings. Intel can't even do civilization 5. Nvidia is a must if you go the intel route and want to play stuff made after 2008. That though does raise the price, not that it's an issue on this budget.

Photoshop does however warrent that kind of rig. This isn't used for that though. All purpose = amd in a month does trinity and will define that. Apus already do, but we have to see how they improved on the processing. Dedicated for gaming = unknown in a month because if it can crossfire better, a dedicated card plus the apu itself will murder everything. Dedicated for Photoshop = intel anything over amd. Dedicated to top of the line performance on a wide variety and not much concern for battery = intel with nvidia card. No gaming = intel. Gotta see benchmarks on the upcoming hd 4000 chip Ivy bridge has before we see how it handles. Also note that amd and their Apus already have usb 3.0, while intel will have that in 2 weeks with Ivy bridge. It makes a big difference, so if you go that route you STILL should wait.
