Stifled's Top Three Ground Pokemon

#3. Marowak

Cubone is cool and cute and it throws bones and is just awesome all over the place. But then it evolves into Marowak, which just amplifies all of those traits tenfold. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also love the play on words Marowak has. You have bone MARROW combined with a nice WHACKING motion. Hence Marowak.

Fun fact: Remember how in Red/Blue you could catch obscenely leveled Pokemon? Well I had a nice level 250 Marowak on my team. This guy challenged me to a battle once thinking he was so cool with his army of Mews. Six Bonemerangs later, I was victorious. Take that, you Game Shark using cheating chump!

#2. Camerupt

I love camels. I love the color orange. I love fire types. This Pokemon was literally made for me.

Why isn't it on the fire list? There's some seriously tight competition for that list, so I felt Camerupt was a better fit on the ground list. Its movepool covers a good mixture of ground and fire moves, so you literally can't go wrong with this guy. It's pretty sturdy too, which helps a lot of you want to try to use it in a fight.

I have to admit this is more of a design choice than a battle choice. While you could make an argument Camerupt can be useful in a fight, I just don't know. I've never used Camerupt on my team. I just keep him in a special box with my favorites and admire him from afar mostly. But isn't that enough? ISN'T IT?!

#1. Dugtrio

DIGLETT DIG DIGLETT DIG TRIO TRIO TRIO!

Fun Fact: In elementary school, I had this awesome band teacher. In middle school, I had this crappy band teacher. So me and my friend decided to piss off the crappy band teacher by spamming the Diglett/Dugtrio chant from the Pokemon anime. We chanted it over and over again, driving the teacher nuts. Good times.

Anyways, Dugtrio is a speedy little bugger with the ground movepool to work with. Most ground types are a little on the sluggish side, so having one that you can boost its speed is refreshing. Not to mention the design. I love the cute little moles popping up from underground. Diglett was adorable, and despite having a serious business look on its face, I think Dugtrio is pretty cute as well.
