Yes, but a PS2 is different than an SNES.
Sprites vs. Polygons makes a difference. Even S-Video cables sadly don't make Donkey Kong Country games look as good on an HDTV.
I could have sworn I found a way to plug my SNES into my TV via component at some point years ago but now I'm pretty sure I was just imagining it.
But seriously though, Super Mario World practically pops at me on my 2007 Trinitron. On my 2011 Samsung HDTV it... is very dark indeed. But yeah, will get S-Video cables now!
