Trump is out of office and ratings nosedived at most of the networks. Why else do sex scandals and convenient scandals seem to get people fired or suspended at an increasing pace? Matt Lauer, Megan Kelly, Whoopie Goldberg, Cuomo, O'Reilly etc. These companies are severing ties with a lot of these people. Joe is a target because he's made of moneybags and he broadcasts people with alternative opinions (ahem, anti-war among other things). That's it in a nutshell. Misinformation is secondary. CNN / FOX / MSNBC made their names on that. They're just jealous that they're being tuned out. There's nothing pure about big media trying to take down the 5 foot manlet.
