Like, let's talk about being born with one leg. Yeah, we have prosethetics to help, and we want society to treat them as anyone else, but we wouldn't say "oh, being born with one leg is normal". We would still acknowledge that it's a birth defect that is off the normative trajectory of development. We would want to restore function as best we can.
