Yeah if it's a first playthrough I gotta keep the sound on in case there's an audio cue to draw your attention to something or new music. There are so many great tracks in games and it'd be a shame to miss out on a good one. And the music can really help set the mood, whether the plot is important to the game or not.

Sometimes once I've beaten a game and am doing another playthrough or going back to find stuff I missed, I'll turn the sound off and listen to something else. If it's a game with audio cues for combat or for finding secrets, I'm likely to keep the sound on anyway.

I'm sorry, but 10,000 of ANYTHING on a PS2 would absolutely destroy your framerate. It'd be like playing chess through the mail. ~johnboy1
