Yeah, I agree. You don't have Gen Xers obsessing over Transformers, or whatever the hell the popular thing for them growing up was, not on the scale I see Millennials obsess over Harry Potter. Same with Boomers, whatever the big childhood thing was for them, they had it, they have fond memories. But then you have Millennials into their 40s just obsessing over what's really young adult, at best, literature. I don't get it. Is it because of social media making it easier for people to connect and normalize their obsession rather than hide it? Is it because the internet has made it easier for any person to start up a small business and crank out crappy fan merch that hits nostalgia? Do women, and in my experience it's mostly women that obsess over Harry Potter, just think Daniel Radcliff is attractive? I don't fucking get it. I read the series to completion, and shrugged and went on with my life, I didn't build a whole subset of my personality around it.
