The PS4 games have done something similar but there's more room to explore that kind of dynamic. They have been teasing Miles a bit (first with Donald Glover in Homecoming, then with Jaime Foxx's joke in NWH) so it's not out of the question. This would also be a cool way to use Venom. Act 1 is Peter discovering another Spider-Man and tracking him down, Act 2 is them bonding and Peter mentoring Miles as they team up to take down a villain, Act 3 is Peter gets possessed by the symbiote and Miles has to prove himself on his own.
