There wasn't really much to it. It was the same "beef up with Swords Dance and X-items against the lead and then sweep" strategy as all the others in this final stretch. Aside from the rival's Staraptor, all of them had leads that I could easily set up on because they couldn't really do much damage back. If Flynt's Rapidash had a more powerful fire-type move than Flame Charge, it could have been a problem, but it didn't.

I went through as much of the game as I possibly could without using X-items, but once I needed them, I used them. Did it make the final battles of the run boring? Yeah, kind of. But is it better than wasting days of my life overleveling Kricketune or resetting hundreds of times until Arceus finally blesses me with the astronomically unlikely RNG that I would have needed to win at Kricketune's current level? Of course it is.
