It's an issue because Trump was able to grab 3 Supreme Court seats, pushing the bench further into a Republican majority. A couple of his new picks will likely be there for decades. It's literally Trump's legacy. The Democratic SC judges are against it. This is exactly the type of point you should make in the other direction - how significant it is to let a Republican president into the executive branch and I recall this sort of warning being brought up all the time in 2016 when both-siders were trying to say how they feel like abstaining from voting because all the politicians are the same.
