It makes no sense to have a large part of the justice system rely on a single person who is probably corrupt to begin with Yeah, there is an effort underway by democrats in congress to pull some presidential powers back and increase penalties and oversight. The Trump administration repeatedly violated the Hatch Act, but did nothing about it.
