My question to you is, if it works in the pizza industry why can it not work for restaurants?

Because waiters make $2 hour. The rest of that is made up with tips. One delivery driver at $15/hour equals the labor cost of about seven waiters. It makes no sense from a business standpoint to do that when delivery isnt a necessary service. Would also take away business from their servers and walk in traffic since those people would just eat at home.

Restaurants operate on thin margins as it is. Food isnt their money maker. Alcohol is where the margin is and delivery on alcohol is obviously not quite as simple.

Logic is kind of how movie theaters wouldnt want to offer all movies on demand day one from home. Sure its nice for customers but it would decimate the core business.

Im not an expert but Id almost guarantee people tend to order more while sitting in the restaurant as opposed to online delivery. Lot of purchases are made on impulse of on the waiter is right here let me add that real quick.
