And? A historian drew a parallel to something that happened 40 years ago? How is that proof or evidence of anything at all?

Do you think munitions disappearing from the military is something new? Do you think it happened once in the 80s and now once again in the last decade? The U.S. military is a gigantic organization that is constantly losing track of munitions and materiel on account of bureaucracy and corruption. Not every instance of something going missing is because "this boogeyman did it". Being a historian means using evidence based reasoning to reach conclusions. There is no evidence currently that any substantial amount of military-grade explosives is going to white supremacists groups planning a race war. It's pure speculation. Let's use a bit of critical reasoning here:

1. They don't need military-grade explosives to race war. I'm sure the White Supremacists have plenty of guns and bullets to go crazy killing non-whites as soon as they feel like going to prison with a long trip to the lethal injection table.
2. You can make weapons grade explosives yourself, at home! It's not all that difficult with a bit of determination, although you may blow your fingers off! The Boston Bombers didn't have any special chemistry knowledge or stolen military hardware--They just used commercially available black powder and a pressure cooker to create a deadly pseudo-explosive. That's before getting into simple nitrate-based high explosives, which someone with a bit of glassware, a hotplate, and some instructions could make. Just ask the Unabomber. Then I'm sure there are plenty of white supremacist explosive enthusiasts and chemists that could also step in and take it even further if we're doomsaying about some organized race war event.
3. Explosives and munitions have been disappearing from the U.S. military since its inception, and over the last half century the number of military explosive ordnance that has been used to commit "race war" is... None, as far as I can tell? I mean, the MOVE bombing, maybe, which was carried out by the government, if you really stretch the definition. It turns out that it's a lot easier to make your own bombs than to try to smuggle bombs out of the military with all the papertrail associated with it.
This is, again, just plain fearmongering and doomsaying. There's plenty of reasons to be worried about White Supremacist groups, but the idea that they are being bolstered by smuggled U.S. military explosive munitions is a real stretch without an investigation proving any sort of connection whatsoever.
