Nah. Microwaves are a special case because the heat they create comes from the waves vibrating in a medium, which as you said is usually water.

Refrigerators don't have any kind of fancy science going on, they just create a cold space like any other and anything that goes into a fridge will get colder. Fridges are a lot more like inverted ovens.
