I've never played 3, but it's generally agreed upon that it's the worst in the series. eXplore eXpand eXploit eXsterminate Basically you start off small and your goal is to find new resources, expand to said resources, exploit them for advantages, then use them to push to win the game. This USUALLY takes the form of building cities and armies and controlling entire nations but can happen on various other scales as well.
