Where everyone else grapples with either mostly internal problems (Cecil, Cloud, Squall), are searching for meaning (Terra, Zidane, Tidus, Lightning), or are just boring (Bartz, Vaan), Ramza is dealing with like societal issues and the morality of class systems. It makes complete sense that on a super dangerous adventure, you'd keep having party members get injured or killed (even if in the end, only one dies). It gives you characters with an extremely wide variety of different skills and motivations, and then (of course) you end with the characters with the most complex battle abilities. The real question is if there are any games without ancient super technology buried somewhere. Does 13 have that? I honestly can't remember. Final Fantasy IX Fourth Wall Gilgamesh Having a good feeling because this is the way The Laughing Scene Shadow: Shadow is cool, and I like his backstory never explicitly saying he's Relm's father. I also like his dog. He's about the right complexity for a side character in a cast of fourteen. I never really used him that much when playing the game, though. I used him occasionally, but I hate throwing things other than ninja stars. FFXIV's Free Trial Ondore's Lies Same Orphanage Evil Empires This Guy Are Sick Xenogears Dancing Mad Kingdom Hearts (series) SMFFFC Ultima Shinra Stairs: A very funny alternative method to the intended ascent, and it makes complete sense why Shinra wouldn't have guarded it, because no one is crazy enough to run up seventy flights of stairs. Is this still around in the remake? I hope so. Gardane? Gardane is funnier. Anyway, unlike Squall/Rinoa, which the story revolves around, this relationship is just sort of there. It's important in the sense of Zidane and Garnet's character arcs, and I guess you can argue that it's important in helping to bring Zidane fully onto the side of humans, but there are way fewer memorable moments. I think I remember it less than the Cecil/Rosa relationship, even. Final Fantasy Dissidia 1 FF8 Game Over Screen Gabranth Vanille: I barely remember this character, I'm sorry. I played FFXIII a million years ago. Mainly what I remember about her is the scene where she and Fang turn into diamonds, and I only remember that because of an ancient meme about "your lesbians are now diamonds." Tidus being an awkward fool Frontier Village Dali (song) Summon Monsters Split Party Dungeons Bells (weapon) Sabin's WoB Segment Gogo Yoshitaka Amano: Oh, this guy. I didn't remember his name, but I do know his art. I'll agree that he has a lot of technical skill, but his style looks nothing like any FF, and half the time you can't tell who's who. I don't know why Square keeps him as the official art guy. Terra vs Celes FF7 Game Over Screen Costa del Sol condo Mario Hoops 3-on-3 Wark vs Kweh Final Fantasy XIV Ivalice FFVI Glitches Alexandria (city): Uh... no real opinions? It's just a standard medieval city, it doesn't even have the steampunk elements of Lindblum. Moogle Charm Dark Aeons Gogo as Adlai Stevenson Theory: This sort of verges on randumb humor. I mean, yes, mocking Gogo identity theories makes sense, but this is just whatever. It did lead me to look up Adlai Stevenson as a kid, thuogh, and then when a science teacher asked if anyone had ever heard of him and I told him what I knew, he was impressed.
