Topic	Call me naive about how the U.S. government works. But why has it not banned

Surely, nothing could exacerbate the current pandemic more than allowing mass-gatherings to take place nation-wide? ...because it's no different than any other day in retail? The crowding might be a little worse, but everything else is the same. And iirc last year a lot of states effectively banned in-person Black Fridays.
