| Blightzkrieg 11/20/21 8:00:27 PM #24: | On the subject of getting into Warhammer, I think a lot of focus gets put on the cost and not enough on the amount of time it takes to paint and even build the models. I think that's a far bigger barrier than simply the cost. The amount of armies that consist of empty bases and weird proxies is kind of depressing. If anyone is intimidated by the cost/time investment, I'd suggest seeing what other games are big in your area. Star Wars Legion and Crisis Protocol are both big in my city, and are cheaper and require fewer models. But the models don't look as good tbh. Also while not necessarily a hobby, I'm super bummed by how expensive anime figures have become. A bland 1/8 scale is like twice as expensive or more than it was five years ago. Idk if that comes down to increases demand driving up the price, or the factory workers demanding increased compensation. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
