Guess what? ~~They thought the 1920s were better~~ Is that a spoiler? :) But yeah, the 20s were somewhat similar to the 50s in the big picture: the US was rising after WWI, the economy was booming, and society was opening up (more opportunities, somewhat less religion in government as prohibition had clearly failed). It makes sense that people feeling nostalgic in the 50s would have looked back on the pre-Depression 20s fondly. --- Pronounced "Whup-pot". Say it.
