I do oatmeal and then greek yogurt most mornings. Carbs from the oatmeal and protein (and some fat/carbs) from the yogurt. Works pretty well.

You could try those breakfast bars or maybe an energy/protein bar. Very likely going to be more expensive than cereal though.
