Even the one I'm in now isn't. I mean, it says it has a key, but my key doesn't work on it... So it's possible more people than you think would be stuck outside... I've never seen a house where the backdoor can't be unlocked from the back, but even if one existed, if it has a window, you can smash it and open it from the inside. However, you usually have a manual door near a garage door (and *most* houses seem to have garage doors) Revelation34 posted... Bigfoot will steal it.
