That's a fair question, I guess my bias is that interest in Vietnam is nowhere near the level of that in Japan, so there's no term to describe an obession of Vietnamese culture over others like there is in Japanese culture. With that said, I still wouldn't feel it would be directed at Vietnamese people because the point is that it's primarily directed at the other individual, not the culture that is being "fetishzied".

You got the first part right, but the second part wrong (unless I said something which insinuated that, than I apologize).

Oh I know that, white people practical dominate hollywood representation by a mile. The East Asian privelege parts is only for very specific examples like SAT testings and Hollywood representation in general. I remember one of my friends (who is also Vietnamese) got a role for a tv show (back in 2014) to play as an one time character, who was a Vietnamese construction worker. He got a call days until the actual filming that his character would actually be a recurring character, but his ethnicity was changed to being Korean because it would be more "appealing". The way he explained wasn't a big deal for him (he was just happy to get a role), but it definately kind of seething for me that they even did that.

Yeah, alt right weebs are idiots that glorify a fantasy version of Japan. That's one of the purposes of mocking actual weebs. Those weebs, being alt right, are also hypocritical and insecure about their interest in something foreign so they're both very fond of using the word themselves and being racist against Asians themselves. However, there are also a massive amount of liberals and leftists who enjoy anime/eastern media which one look at resetera, tumblr, and tvtropes forums can tell you. Weebs are definitely used by both sides (since liberals do want to counter the alt right weebs plus there are a fair share of liberals who do not care about racism against Asians or are prejudiced against Asians themselves) but from what I've seen, the majority of people who genuinely thinks enjoying a foreign country's media or a media that doesn't feel domestic are things that should be negatively labeled are conservatives.
And from my personal experience, weeb is used far less often on left leaning places like resetera and tumblr than right leaning places like 4chan, Twitch/Youtube comments, and the console boards of this site.

And I will give it to you that terms like cuck, simp, and weeb do get used more from conservative leaning users online than left leaning individuals.... well in my experience at least. They're so over used that they did eventual lose their original meaning and it's primarily used just to make fun of others for things like not being man enough and stuff.
