It's straight-forward and enjoyable. Excellent use of multiple villains during its runtime. These are some of the best media portrayals of Harley, Joker, and Scarecrow in particular. Love the psychological horror bend in certain areas, like Scarecrow's sequences of course, but also in little ways like those first-person Joker encounters or with environmental storytelling, such as multiple instances of passing through formerly guarded areas and finding them all slaughtered or worse. Not a fan of how some arcs are handled - Bane feels like a flop, Scarecrow's ends with a whimper, and the worst offender of all is Joker, casting aside any story nuance to have a big dumb brute fright instead and end things nice and tidy. Still, this is a story I've seen to the end many times, and it really shows fantastic knowledge of how to pace correctly, have darkness and horror without being overly edgy, and how to properly incorporate lore and background details so elegantly and with depth.
