I think part of the problem is that you started at P5 and went backwards. People who played P5 first tend to prefer it to the others, because the battle system and dungeon-crawling evolves by leaps and bounds between P4 and P5. If you start at P5, P3 and P4 are a slog to play. For me, P4 is my favorite, simply because of how strong the cast dynamics are, how well-developed Inaba is, and how many good memories I have from it. I started with P3 per this board's recommendation over a decade ago and I have no regrets. It's easier for me to go back to.
