No one ever really went out where I live even when people did still go out, and my house is awkward to get to (and no kid wants to walk all the way up the path to a house that isn't decorated). But over at least the last decade or so it seems like fewer and fewer people trick-or-treat at all (with little kids doing stuff like "trunk-or-treat" at school if anything), and with Covid being a thing people were even less inclined to go door-to-door for anything, so I don't expect to see anyone regardless. If I lived in a development or apartment building or something I might think differently, but where I live it's kind of pointless.
