In a perfect world, sure. But we don't actually live in that world.

I mean, people have been fired over things they said on Twitter (sometimes for things you said ten fucking years ago and have since apologized for). People who work for companies get fired all the time for doing or saying things publicly that "reflect poorly on their employer". Like it or not, your personal, private life does impact the rest of your life the moment other people know about it.

Either we have to become a lot more chill as a society about what people do in their free time, or people need to stop being incredibly stupid about what they say/post online in places that can be easily connected to their real identity. Because otherwise, stuff like this is going to keep happening. And it's still going to be just as much the fault of the person getting caught, for acting like the world is the way it "should" be rather than living in it the way it actually is.


And that's before you even get into things like "I don't want my kids Googling the name of that teacher/volunteer they know from school and finding porn." It's why schools usually have stricter background checks and ethics/morality clauses (and tend to act quickly when things that slipped through the cracks get caught).

It's also before you get into the question of what happens when you're running an OF account as a parent and it gets publicly revealed. Odds are her kids at school are going to go through absolute living hell as the other kids start taunting them about how their mom is a slut/whore/etc. Because kids are so understanding.
