TopicHurt My Knee While Weight Lifting. Is It Worth Taking a 1 WEEK Break?

I do Starting Strength(where you have to squat 3x a week), and got into a situation where I hurt my knee while lifting heavier weight. Nothing is broken, but my right knee hurts whenever i try to squat. I decided to invest in some knee sleeves, though i still have some issues where my particular knee has trouble.

Would you suggest I take a one week break from lifting, in order for proper recovery? Or would it be better to plow through the pain, in order to maintain my gains/strength? For people who have hurt or had very very minor injuries from lifting weights, what did you do?

Note: Won't go to doc. I already spent tons on medical bills last month due to an unrelated medical issue. And my problem isn't an emergency situation. atm, anyway
