I also liked Final Fantasy X, since it felt like every party member had a purpose and it gave you time to come up with strategies and modify them on the fly depending how battles where going. Not a popular opinion, but I HATE the ATB system that was popular in 90's JRPGs. It is the main reason most of them are not in my "favorite RPGs" list. It would have been fine if they had used shortcut keys for actions or slimmed the menus down like some non-Square ones did, but having to flip through menus to perform certain actions while a battle is progressing is not my idea of good gameplay. Valkyria Chronicles also has a really good system as far as Strategy RPGs go. --- After 16 years, I have decided my signature will NOT be about my job!
