It's a rare show that starts off with the best season then slowly and subtly gets worse with each season. The horse meme is quite accurate. 'Winds of Winter' (the S6 closer) was an amazing episode, and while I was personally lukewarm about 'Battle of the Bastards,' I can see why others loved it.
