Considering the sheer number of other planets we can terraform and colonize, worrying about doing that before the Earth becomes uninhabitable is just silly.

That's assuming we actually manage to terraform or colonize even a single planet before we hit the expiration date on the one we're currently ruining.

But even if we did, there's still a hard limit on the timeline of the universe - new stars won't continually form forever, and energy will be increasingly dispersed, meaning we'd eventually run out of places to keep running away to.

Short of figuring out time travel (to permanently jump backwards as a race to the beginning of time and start all over again) or dimensional travel (to jump into a new fresh universe and exploit the hell out of it the way we always do), even the most optimistic assumptions about human development and advancement still hit a hard wall where physics themselves make eternity impossible.

And that's assuming we don't kill ourselves off or severely backslide technologically over the next few centuries. It wouldn't be the first time in human history that the most advanced civilization collapsed. Nor the first time in Earth's history that the most advanced species died off.
