I prefer the Moffat era as it was more consistent, but RTD was great at making event TV which is what the series needs right now. Also, Smith was the most consistent Doctor in terms of episodes - not a single bad episode in his run, though some very mediocre ones. However, maybe Tennant and definitely Capaldi hit higher highs. Series 6 is the overall worst series the reboot has had (in fairness, I haven't rewatched series 11-12 to fairly judge them as good or bad), and series 7 is really bland in the "Clara is the most fascinating person the Doctor has ever met" half. Smith just never felt like a proper Doctor, but rather this goofball who occasionally tried to come across as a badass. --- Touch fuzzy. Get fuzzier.
