Are you in denial about that? Who cares about whether their actions are fueled by ignorance or maliciousness, when you cause death it doesn't matter, you aren't worth my respect, and 'calmly giving them facts' clearly hasn't done anything. Pointing out the reality that you need to treat these people with a very modest amount of respect if there is any hope of convincing them otherwise isn't defending anyone.
