BEFORE the movie had opened going all the way back to when it was first announced, several people were predicting a huge flop. Including Disney, going by how little they were advertising it. Even China mocked it and isn't currently scheduled for showing there. There are several people who will predict everything will be a huge flop. That doesn't mean much. And I'm guessing China doesn't view Shang-Chi in a positive light because the comic book history of Shang-Chi plays up racist stereotypes. That doesn't at all mean "no one had faith in the movie" as you seem to insist on claiming. Lots of people were excited to see the movie.
