| Eddv 08/26/21 5:42:44 PM #23: | Review: So from the beginning this is already a trip, seeing Colt with the glasses and the cocky swagger is instantly putting me into a time and place. This crowd is so hot for the saints that honestly almost nothing else that happens in the match matters. Indeed, the work is a little whatever, especially when Mark is in the ring. He can't emote, he's not selling the dram and his work lacks snap and intensity. When Jay and Punk are in the ring this thing is at its best, you can feel Jay's desperation. He knows that this is the Saints night and that to win he has to bust out the entire arsenal. The match ends up built around Punk trying like hell to set up the Pepsi plunge and Colt trying like hell not to lose the match when he gets in the ring. And with all that set up and all that tease the drama of the match is OVER when the Plunge happens. Could've counted to a million. This simple narrative gets cluttered over a bit as we go as they tease a lot of other near falls, which the crowd politely bites on with gusto because theyre hot as fuck for this match, but which I wasn't buying into it.
