I'm sure yall have heard plenty of mixed things about ivermectin. Its a drug used to treat certain types of parasites. There were some early studies that it could have some anti-viral properties (in a lab) and it has some anti-inflammatory properties. Its been trialed in humans and there have been no good studies to suggest that there is any clinical benefit. There are some studies to suggest that it can help with several different clinical endpoints, and some studies suggest that it can make things worse. All of these are small studies with significant limitations in their methods and really can't be use to draw any conclusions. There are some meta-analysis - which basically combines all these small studies to draw conclusions. The problem with doing this is, if all your small studies are garbage, then your overall conclusions will be garbage. Some of these meta analysis suggested an overall benefit so people ran with it without putting it in context. Now we know that one of the bigger studies that suggested one of the most benefits was seriously flawed and has been retracted due to plagiarism and falsifying data. These were included in these meta-analysis studies so those are now being re-done. One of the most well respected systematic reviews, the cochrane database did a review of all the data and showed that there was really no benefit and basically determined that most of those small studies are straight trash. Again, cochrane is probably the most well respected place for these kinds of review articles that evaluate quality of data and summarize it.

Again, there is no good quality study or data to suggest that Ivermectin helps in any way.

So if anyone says Ivermectin is the cure, they are fucking stupid af and hopefully they dont reproduce cuz the last thing we need is more fucking stupid people in this country.
