There's a genetic attraction there, probably, since most people and animals are biologically driven to seek out healthier-looking mates so they can have healthy offspring, even if those elements don't necessarily benefit humans as much as they did in the past because society is much more complicated than that. Honestly, I can't believe that for a second. You know how many genetic abnormalities and stuff are out there because we breed the way we do? If we actually scrutinized our mates based off of those factors then there wouldn't even BE that many poor-sighted people to begin with. Among other things. Humans aren't attracted to others of our kind based on health and survivability. And if you want to get really technical then we're not even in an environment where health matters like it otherwise would, since we are protected by society and have availability to medicine and other corrective treatments. Saying humans pick their spouses based on "genetic attraction" is ridiculous. When's the last time you heard somebody say "Yeah, I like that guy but I'm not going to be with him because he is lactose-intolerant and I don't want that trait passed down to my kids"?
