Alright, I'm not sure quite how I got picked to lead the charge here but I think after Friday night, there's only one guy I can conceivably feature. The Briscoes vs Second City Saints (CM Punk and Colt Cabana) Ring of Honor ROH Reborn: Stage Two (4/24/04) https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Fp4y1e75F/ We're traveling back in time here to a period where CM Punk had long blond hair, wrestled in basketball shorts, came out to his actual best entrance theme, and likely could not have possibly imagined that one day he'd have United Center personnel handing out ice cream bars in his name to an arena of 15,000 people. But one thing has remained consistent in his career - Chicago adores him. This match may not stand up to some of the incredible tag bouts that ROH would give us in the coming years, but it's still tons of fun. The first half is very Southern-style-tag-derivative with the Saints having some fun at their opponents' expense and clearly reveling in the love they're getting from their hometown before Dem Boys cut the ring off, and the second half brings the nonstop car crash energy that would come to define so many wonderful years in the company with a couple of creative spots. And the whole way through, they're supported by one of the best crowds in the early days of the promotion. It's cool to see Punk just having fun being in the ring.
