If you keep all the "uniques", you only have room for three generics (incidentally, the game drops three semi-unique generics onto you) to do quests, and no space for monster breeding poaching. PSP adds eight more slots, but also two more uniques. Six is barely enough for monster breeding, and you're still out of luck if you kept your starting party for some reason.
