I think all toppings are place on top, but the other topics probably sink into the melted cheese while its baking. But pepperoni doesnt because of the shape Probably

Yeah, good point, the shape is round and floaty, but I actually tear my pepporoni up alot to make it more...chaotic....cool etc......and it still is on top of the cheese.

I don't put a TON of cheese on top of the other toppings, but I also don't ensure there is no cheese covering them either, and it still tastes good.

Pepporoni that is covered though is just a greasy mess and not crunchy at all, very likely to be pulled out when you bite into the pizza etc (whole) since you can't bite through it as well.

You can also actually do pepporoni cubes (some places use that) which will sink down more like other toppings, but again, you don't get the crunch which i like, so i never do that.

As i have gotten older and my taste buds are dying (my soul is crying), I use more toppings now. I don't taste just the cheese as well anymore (Even if it's really good cheese), and so I like at least onions/peppers and mushrooms on my pizza usually with pepporoni as well and often sausage (sometimes olives).

I remember the old days though, the hunt for the perfect cheese, finding places so good any topping was sacrilege. God pizza was so good back then. Maybe it still would be, it's been years and the pizza I can actually get here isn't as good, but I also notice I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. I might not be able to appreciate the really good cheese pizzas anymore.

I think I'll avoid every trying one again so I don't find that out. It would probably kill a part of me if I knew for sure I couldn't appreciate them anymore.
